The North Texas Municipal Water District has officially discontinued all drought stages. The City of Garland is no longer operating under its Drought Contingency Plan. Although drought-related water use restrictions are no longer in effect, the City will continue to enforce its Water Conservation Ordinance. Key points of that plan include:
No outdoor irrigation between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Newly-installed irrigations systems must be equipped with rain and freeze sensors
Restaurants can only serve water upon request
