Reporting Observations of Theft of Recyclable Materials
Recycling is collected in 18-gallon red bins, every other week on same day as trash. The following items are accepted for curbside recycling :
Newspaper, junk mail, advertising inserts, magazines, chipboard (cereal and cracker boxes), white and colored paper; these items should be placed in a separate red bin or other container (such as a box, grocery bag, or tied bundle); protect paper from getting wet on rainy days.
Aluminum, steel & tin cans (rinse out any food, lids okay)
Aerosol cans that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
Glass bottles & jars (rinse & remove lids)
Plastic containers #1 & #2 (lids okay)
When setting out your red recycling bin(s), please do the following:
Put your red bin outside by 7:00 a.m. on your designated collection day.
Place the bin 4 feet from your green trash container, so our trucks can easily pick up each container.
Do not place containers near stationary objects such as gas or water meter, cable or electrical box, or mail box We cannot accept at curbside:
Phone books
Plastic wrap
Plastic grocery bags
Plastic containers that contain hazardous material (such as bleach, motor oil, or antifreeze)
Plastics #3, 4, 5, 6, or 7
Scrap metal
Paint cans
Aerosol cans with chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
Automotive product containers
Aluminum foil
Disposable aluminum plates or pie tins
Detached steel can lids
Light bulbs
Plate glass
Auto glass
Tempered glass
Mirrors
Ceramics
Ovenware
Glass that is not a container
Corrugated cardboard
