The Public & Media Affairs Department’s mission is to increase citizen awareness, understanding and participation in all areas of municipal governance from the neighborhoods to City Hall by providing information about City government services and programs in order to make them more accessible to Garland citizens. This is accomplished through the City’s Government Access Cable Channel, the Garland City Press and other publications, the City website, news media relations and other means. The Public & Media Affairs Department works closely with the Community Relations Department to support marketing efforts and special events.
